Objectives
The Department of Applied Chemistry at National Pingtung University (NPTU) bases its research and education programs (B.S. and M.S.) on traditional chemistry disciplines: organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry as well as two other interdisciplinary areas: materials and biotechnology. The first and second year curriculum focuses on the basics in chemistry as well as biology. At this stage, students strengthen their science foundation by learning both applied chemistry (including chemical theory and chemical experimentation) as well as life science (including life science theory and laboratory experiments). During their third and fourth years, depending on personal interest and career plans, students can study related programs, like nanochemistry, structural chemistry, materials science, cosmetic chemistry, and biological science and technology. Through monographic studies, students increase their professional skills.
